INGREDIENT SPOTLIGHT

Electrolyte Supplement Manufacturing — Your Formula, Our Line

We manufacture Electrolyte products on our partner lines in Zhengzhou, China. Bring a finished formula, a target active level or a rough concept, and we convert it into a specification we can run in bulk — mineral salt ratio and blend included.

  • Sodium, potassium and magnesium ratios set to your formula
  • Stick pack, sachet, tub, tablet and effervescent formats
  • Citrus and non-citrus flavour systems available

Sodium, potassium, magnesium and chloride blends in the format the category now buys — stick packs, tubs and ready-to-drink.

12 Dosage Forms

Why Electrolytes Are a Taste Problem Before a Chemistry One

Electrolytes look simple on a spec sheet and are genuinely difficult in the glass. Three decisions decide whether your product is credible.

Taste Before Chemistry

Three salts each carry a distinct taste — sodium as salt, potassium as metallic bitterness, magnesium as chalky astringency. A formula that hits an impressive mineral number frequently tastes unacceptable at real dilution, so most of the work is taste balance at the target load, not the load itself.

Osmotic Strength

The consumer experiences osmolality as how quickly a drink quenches thirst. A high-solute and a low-solute drink are different products — the correct target depends on whether you position around exercise, heat, illness or general hydration. We build osmolality to your position, not a competitor’s figure.

Format & Stability

Powders and stick packs carry a full mineral load dry and travel well. Tablets solve portability but cap the load; gummies carry the least per unit and a high-sodium gummy tastes strongly of salt. Ready-to-drink carries the most but pays in weight, packaging and shelf life.

Formats We Run

Stick packs and single-serve sachets

3–10 g, the dominant electrolyte format

Powder tubs

5–30 g per scoop, multi-serving and the best value per dose

Solid beverage

5–30 g sachets, frequently combined with carbohydrate for a sports drink position

Ready-to-drink

250–1,000 ml bottles, highest consumer convenience and highest packaging cost

Tablets

compressed and effervescent options, up to 1,000 mg, portability at the cost of load

Gummies and chewables

4 g unit weight, lowest mineral load per unit and a strong salt taste at high sodium

What We Check Before Release

Mineral assays on the finished product

Mineral assays on the finished product, verified against the nutrition panel arithmetic

Sodium declaration accuracy

Sodium declaration accuracy, which is a labelling enforcement priority in several markets

Heavy metals and microbiological limits

Heavy metals and microbiological limits, with particular care on mineral raw materials Water activity and hygroscopicity in powders, which determine caking and pack integrity

Dissolution and clarity in ready-to-drink and effervescent formats Taste and osmolality at the intended dilution, tested with real consumers rather than at bench strength

Sourcing and Specification Notes

Sodium citrate

Sodium citrate, potassium chloride, magnesium citrate and magnesium glycinate are our most common salts

Magnesium glycinate is gentler and more …

Magnesium glycinate is gentler and more expensive; magnesium citrate is cheaper and carries a sharper taste Sugar-free and low-sugar systems are available with stevia, monk fruit or a blend, and change the mouthfeel

Effervescent systems need a specific aci…

Effervescent systems need a specific acid-carbonate pairing and are quoted as a separate development item We will build the osmolality to your product position rather than matching an arbitrary competitor figure

One Thing Buyers Get Wrong

Chasing a competitor’s mineral number. A higher sodium or potassium figure is not automatically a better product, and past a point the taste is unacceptable at the dilution consumers use. Match the number to the position and the dilution. Not testing at the real dilution. A bench sample at full strength tastes very different from the finished drink. We test taste and osmolality at the intended serving, because that is what the consumer experiences. Getting sodium declaration arithmetic wrong. Sodium is an enforcement priority in several markets. We check elemental-versus-salt arithmetic before the nutrition panel is finalised, not after a listing is rejected.

Popular Formulas We Run

Electrolytes live in stick packs — the mineral ratio and the extras set the positioning.

Daily Hydration

Sodium, potassium, magnesium, chloride and calcium in a zero-sugar stick pack.

Sports + Endurance

Higher-sodium electrolytes with cordyceps for training-positioned recovery.

Keto + Fasting

Stevia-sweetened electrolytes with trace minerals for a keto-friendly daily drink.

MOQ, Sampling & Lead Times

The commercial basics up front — minimums, sampling and production speed, the same commitment on every ingredient line.

Minimum Order Quantities

From 100 pieces per SKU on standard formats; 500 for custom packaging, 1,000 for a custom formula and 3,000 for full turnkey projects.

Quote & Sampling

Enquiries answered within 24 hours and quotations within 48. Samples take 2-3 days, with pilot batches from 1–5 kg before any bulk commitment.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the minimum order quantity for electrolyte stick packs?

MOQ is confirmed per format and specification at quotation stage. Serving size, mineral load, sugar system and packaging all move the figure — send us the target and we will quote exactly.

Can you make a sugar-free electrolyte powder?

Yes. We work with stevia, monk fruit and blends, and the sugar system changes the mouthfeel materially, so we sample the finished drink rather than approving a sweetener list on paper.

How do you balance the taste at high mineral loads?

By treating taste as the specification. We build the acid, flavour and sweetener system around the target mineral load and then test at the real dilution, because a formulation that tastes fine at bench strength often does not in the finished drink.

Which format carries the most electrolytes?

Powder tubs and stick packs carry the highest load per serving, followed by ready-to-drink. Tablets and gummies carry the least, because both are constrained by size and, in the gummy, by the salt taste the gel base produces.

Do you do effervescent electrolyte tablets?

Yes. Effervescent formats need a specific acid-carbonate pairing and a dry-room environment, and we quote them as a separate development item because the tooling and process differ from compressed tablets.

How long does bulk production take?

We reply to enquiries within 24 hours and send a quotation within 48. Samples take 2-3 days, and standard bulk runs complete in 5–10 days with packaged goods leaving in 10–15 days.

DOSAGE FORMS

Which format should your Electrolyte product take?

The same Electrolyte blend can be delivered in several forms, and each one changes the fill weight, the taste profile and the tooling. We produce powder, stick pack and tablet in-house, so the choice is driven by your market rather than by what a third party can supply.
