Effervescent formats dissolve in water with a lively fizz, delivering a fast, pleasant and highly absorbable dose — a favourite for vitamin C, immunity blends and hydration. Hubogen manufactures effervescent tablets and powders in-house with tight humidity control. As an effervescent tablet manufacturer, Hubogen provides custom effervescent OEM in tubes and blister packs.
Why brands choose effervescent
- Fast absorption — dissolved actives are absorbed quickly and efficiently.
- High dose, easy swallow — ideal for large vitamin C doses.
- Pleasant and engaging — the fizz makes hydration and immunity routines enjoyable.
- Differentiated — a tube of effervescent tablets stands out on shelf.
- Great for flavours — citrus, berry and tropical profiles work especially well.
Format at a glance
- Tablet — 2–6 g, in tube or foil sachet.
- Powder — 2–10 g stick pack or sachet.
- System — citric / tartaric acid + bicarbonate.
- Flavours — citrus, berry, tropical and custom.
- Stability — low-humidity processing and barrier packaging.
Specification range
Effervescent tablets are typically 2–6 g each, packed in moisture-barrier tubes or individual foil sachets. Effervescent powders are filled into stick packs or sachets from 2 g to 10 g. The acid–base system is balanced for a clean, fast dissolve with a mild taste, processed under low humidity.
Typical applications
Vitamin C effervescent, multivitamin and multimineral fizz, immune-support blends with zinc and elderberry, electrolyte and hydration tablets, magnesium fizz, hangover and recovery formulas, and joint-support effervescent powders.
What decides whether a project runs smoothly
- Moisture control — the acid and carbonate react as soon as moisture is present; production runs in low humidity.
- Acid and base balance — the ratio sets taste, mouthfeel and sodium load; a labelling consequence.
- Packaging format — tubes and strips protect differently; tubes need a desiccant closure in humid markets.
- Sodium content — effervescent systems carry sodium unless a low-sodium system is specified.
- Taste vs actives — the fizz masks a great deal, but not everything.
Sourcing and specification notes
- Moisture is the defining risk — the production environment and packaging barrier both matter.
- Tablet weight is typically 3–5 g, heavier than a standard tablet and changes the tooling.
- The acid and carbonate pair determines dissolution behaviour and taste profile.
- Sugar-free systems are common and use a different sweetener and binding approach.
- Flavour intensity must be higher than in a powder, because the reaction carries aroma off quickly.
Quality and shelf life
Effervescent products are released against dissolution, moisture and uniformity — any moisture picked up during production or storage starts the reaction early, so the environment and barrier are both controlled. Shelf life is confirmed per formulation, stated on the spec sheet; the packaging is part of the formulation, not a finishing step.
